Job Description

This position assists with the maintenance, repair, and operation of all wind farm mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and computer control equipment.

Required Skills


This position requires continuous sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and reaching; frequent bending, kneeling, and using keyboard/computer; and occasional crawling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. This position requires finger dexterity, good color vision and good hearing. Working conditions may frequently include chemicals and noise; and occasionally extreme heat and cold, dirt and dust. This position must be respirator qualified. Some travel may be required. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to consistently climb and feel comfortable climbing wind turbine towers at heights up to 300 feet; and perform demanding work at heights under adverse conditions, including confined spaces. The incumbent will be on call 24hrs/day, 7 days a week and work overtime, holidays, weekends, and during emergency site outages.

Required Experience


Must have electrical or mechanical experience and skills at a level acquired through the completion of a two-year degree in an electrical or mechanical vocational program and three years of power plant/wind generation or industrial/maintenance experience OR five years of equivalent power plant/wind generation or industrial/maintenance experience. The incumbent must be proficient with computers, and standard software programs. Must be capable of obtaining WAPA switchman qualification, and be able to perform first aid and CPR. (Training for these certifications will be provided by Basin Electric). A valid driver's license is required. SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) experience is desired. High voltage and sub-station maintenance and operations experience is desired.
